Thank you for yet another amazing event with FIDA Presents
“The Get Down Sessions” on Sunday, May 20th!!!
The weather was wonderful and those of you who came out were in full
force. How did you like the new
space? Just enough room for what we do,
private, intimate and special. It was
refreshing to move in and out of the dance area and chill out in the front of
the shop on the wooden benches, as well as, dancin’ on the sidewalk in Downtown
Newark on a warm, semi Summer afternoon!
Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and happy to be out and about
after four days of clouds and rain (and it’s still dreary and raining!!).
Our special guest DJ, Mr. X (Al) from Essentials did his
thing and slayed the kids! My bad for
announcing him as Ceaser…I was little tispy on the mic. He served up a very eclectic dish of music
and no one missed a beat. If they
weren’t dancing, they were listening. The
song of his set, “Changin’” by Sharon Ridley brought the house down! The thunderous applause was truly deserved
for droppin’ that tune. Thank you so
very much Mr. X (Al)! Also, big ups to
his son who (I believe is following in his father’s DJ footsteps on the decks,
all the best to you!!). As a reminder,
Mr. X & Ceaser will be the guest DJ’s at Humble Beginnings, 30 Maple Ave,
Montclair, NJ on June 9th….hope you can make it.
We thank those who brought the wine, the cases of water,
chips and thank you Jamison and Mark for the two pans of fried chicken, you
guys always come through and we at FIDA thank you. The Jello Shots provided by our sister party
and Mr. Flowerz event wife, Anetra and "sista-in-da-struggle" Kendall
was much appreciated. Good to see the
Beat Brothers, Snucka & Dre hangin’ out with us. My Humble family, we always rollin’
deep! A shout out and a big thanks to
Phyllis Wells for coming down at 4pm with a case of water and chips, my darling
dear, Kim Faison, thanks for the print out, we have to put you on staff!!! Hugs & love to Misty & Andre, to the
other half of Essentials, a man with the heart of Yeshua Hamashicach (Jesus the
Messiah) Mr. Ceaser, thank you.
Great to see you Big Rob Gordon, to the lovely Lakeva (sexy
chocolate!!) good to see you!!! Mr.
Pookie (the other Pookie) & Robin, both of you missed the "Get
Down", but glad to see y'all there nonetheless (hang in there next
time...it'll bang!!), to our brother and fellow FIDA DJ, Rahbu (thank you for
the gifts), Mike Walker (and guest) was in the house as was Omi (she got a 95%
on her FIDA Music Test A…awesome!!!), Naimah, Rasmir and Tia…thank you! Lottie & Tracey, thank you, thank you for
gracing us with your presence and NRG.
Much respect to another FIDA DJ Mia Friday and sister Gina (and your
lovely guest!!) we love and appreciate you both! Vanita, I love it when you right there in the
front singin’ with me! Mr. Sadat (where’s that video clip??), Polo & Kevin
(we still doin’ it from 618…OMG!), FIDA DJ, Gabe D strollin’ in right on the
pulse of it. My nef, Drew broke a sweat to Johnny Hammond! Good to see you Drew! Rabine and Linda congrats on the engagement

Duane, thank you brother, we should had done this years ago. Carlton Rosebure, our sound man, the
