As passionate music aficionados, it is hard to go through a single day and not listen to at least one song or track. Whether it be in the morning getting ready for work, listening to it in the car on the way to work, listening to it on the iPod or mobile phone while on the bus, subway or train, at our desks at work, while we cook, clean or just relaxin' and chillin', music permeates our every activity. We personalize and internalize it, defend it to the death so much that our egos can't fathom that the music doesn't solely belongs to us. That, it only speaks to the "me, myself and I" and not the "yous" and "theys". Music is truly an universal thing and if some of those in the world around us can relate to the sounds that we (FIDA) love, maybe not as deep, intense, and fiery or have the profound background history and knowledge to go with it, that's a beautiful thing. We have to realize too that their love of music (they may love/like the genres we hold dear to our spirit...we just don't know what another person may or may not heard and like) is a love that is unique to them. Each of us perceives of it differently (some the same) but it speaks to them nonetheless. So we, at the FIDA offices were curious as to what songs got our members and guests through the "grey rainy days" that descended upon us recently. We asked them to name five tunes (some were a little extra with it); however, here are the results.
